Looking to sup from the font of all knowledge!

Hi there......

I'm looking for some info an a RG I bought last year... info on the web is scant and somewhat contradictory - I'm looking for some info as I'm intending to sell it...

Its an RG 250B RB - In Royal Blue - its serial number is an 02 (2003) and it's stamped made in Japan, with a TRS tremelo

I'm looking for info such as pickup's (V6F or PSND for example) as Ibanez UK (last time I phoned) drew a blank and it's not mentioned on Ibz's website at all.

Thanks very much for any info you can provide

You didn't buy that from Selfridges, did you?
They had a weird looking RG250 with F02xxxxx serial number and low TRS looking trem.
Funny thing is that the F serial # means it's Japanese made - at least RG4xx guitar but the pickups were Powersound which means RG3xx at the most.
You probably wound up with something like that.
Anyway if there's nothing written on the pickups they are Powersounds and the bridge is either a low TRS II or ILT1.
Best thing to wait and see if Jono or Rich (spagbol) know more on the subject.
Also the F02xxxxx means it's a 2002 model, hence the "02" after the F.
Last thing - this will strugle to get over 180 as 220 buys you a brand spanking new RG270 and 240 will get you a RG370 over at GAK.

So the Japanese made tag means nothing then - as considering they're still being sold new for 400?

I bought it in Wales - in Newport to be precise!

Its definitely Japanese made as it says so on the headstock and its definitely a TRS as it says so there - I'd just like to knowmore so the advert doesn't just say

"guitar for sale - bit of wood with metal on it " ;-)

(Also why the hell did I put F02 (2003) - OF COURSE ITS 2002!) Going mad!

That's not strictly true. I have two guitars with V6s and they have nothing written on them - I had to find out what they were by digging through the circut diagrams on Ibanez's website. The distinguishing visual feature of Powersounds is that they don't have adjustable pole pieces while V6s do.

Well if it's got the Made in Japan mark and an F02xxxxx serial number I'd advertise it as RG450.
The pickups might be V6 and as Petie says you can check that by cheking if the pole pieces are adjustable.
It seems really weird as if the neck is Japanese then the whole guitar might be and if that's Japanese, then the pikups must be something better than the powersounds.
I'm really lost here but apart from lacking the V7/S1/V8 pickups this guitar specs as RG450.

With the humbuckers 6 of the 12 pole pieces have a screw thread head - is that what you mean or where you perhaps meaning hex (allan) heads (as I've seen on some)!

Ta V much

The pics on Jemsite of the v6 are difficult to see properly even zoomed - so it could be - as I said it has 6 flat pole pieces and 6 adjustable by screwthreads....

That's V6s you have, so your whole guitar is Japanese made.
Advertise it as 2002 RG450 because that's what it is.
I've seen the same guitar in London so maybe Headstock had a weird shipment of mislabeled guitars.

What is also odd about it is that the Ibanez logo on the headstock is mirrored, not white like some others...

Me?!?!? I know nothing about the modern mid level RGs

In fact I don't think I ever recovered when they changed the RG550 to the 1550
