Loose strings

I prefer D tuning (DCGFAD), but I find my strings always feel 'loose' (ie, bends are really easy, strings bounce all over the place if I pick too hard, my low and high E strings will easily slip off the frets). I wanted to try C tuning but I know the strings would be even looser. Is this a normal problem? How do you guys fix it?

Re: Loose strings

Would 10s do the trick? Or do I have to go to 11s

Re: Loose strings

The correct tuning is DGCFAD.

Re: Loose strings

Go some 10-52s. I found them perfect on an RG for D standard.
