Lots of pictures of my first Ibanez!

Picked up this beautiful '96 Japanese RG570 about a month ago. Finish is black pearl. Lovely sparkle! I have an Evolution DP159 in the bridge atm (not shown in some pictures). I plan on swapping out all the pickups by this Winter.

This is my first Ibanez, and I'm already in love. I wouldn't trade this guitar for anything in the world (except a Caparison Horus, maybe :P)

The entire guitar is in FLAWLESS, I repeat, FLAWLESS condition. There is one small, small ding on the lower horn, and the back cavity plate has a scratch on it, but other than that, there's nothing! Try even spotting the ding-it's miniscule! This guitar is a friggin' 10/10 in terms of condition. Frets are soooo nice too!

I'm really happy with this guitar-it sings like none other. I sold my Jacksons for this baby! Not to mention...the sparkle finish is awesome. Cosmo hardware? Hells yes. I did need to have some work done on the edge's high E saddle because it was a bit worn out from the string, but a little sanding fixed the problem, but other than that, this thing has been flawless. Never goes out of tune either!

I'm thinking about putting a pickgaurd on it-opinions? Would it be a good idea? I'd have to drill my own holes...would it change the sound a whole lot? For better or for worse? What color combination would work well with the guitar?

Or maybe I should just leave it bone stock? It's awesome as it is (although I'd love sharkfin inlays)

It's a beautiful guitar. Love the finish. And the whammy bar!

How are you liking the neck? Is it a Wizard, or Wizard II?

Kind regards,
Mist and rain

Re: Lots of pictures of my first Ibanez!

Superwizard II according to the catalogue.

Any wizard with the bubinga or whatever strip is a super. This one has the wizard II profile.

Here is the 96 catalogue with the 570

It says Wizard II

Re: Lots of pictures of my first Ibanez!

I always thought it was the original Super Wizard, but I'm not really sure...

shall I post a snap of the neck with a ruler for reference?

edit: oh yeah and the neck is in flawless condition...if anything, it's in better condition than the body. Not a ding or scratch on it....it plays very nicely. I love the girth-perfect for fast playing. It does give me cramps, though-definately not for comfortable playing.

It says Wizard II
It also says Lo Pro Edge which this doen't have.

So this guitar was probably made in 96 for the 97 range

Re: Lots of pictures of my first Ibanez!

if the catalog doesn't lie, then it is a wizard II. i guess they started to use the original wizard again later (for example, in 2000 the 570 has the original wizard).

edit: ..but crev has a good point! most likely a late run 96
