Low end but great player...higher end equivalent?

Hi there,

I'm sure we've all experienced owning/playing a low end guitar that was a shockingly perfect fit for you in every way ergonomically and every other way. Thus is the dilemma I find myself in. I have an Ibanez GSA60 that outperforms most of my other guitars in terms of playability, crunch tone (but not clean tone nor sustain) and comfort. The simplicity of the bridge, the comfort of the neck, the contoured body all suit me to a degree, however, I can't help but wonder if there is a higher end equivalent Ibanez, that I could also appreciate for the better woods/materials/hardware...For the record , I have owned early 90's RG's, a 520S , and several US and Asian strats , LP's and a number of superstrat types...I'm not up to date on the current Ibanez stuff and was wondering if there is something out there that is several steps up , but similar dimension wise to the GSA60....S types seem to be a bit too dainty and delicate, or at least that's why I remember selling my 520S Thanks for any input!

Look for brand new or used SA120/SA160/SA260 models

If you want prestige, the closest thing is the SV5470 I think..

Good stuff....the SA260 looks great, and SEEMS to have the same body thickness. The SV5470 looks like the thinner S style.

A google search for 'SA260' brought up a few pics...one was a great looking gold colored, flamed top that almost looked like it had a maple cap on it,...may have just been the white binding. Very sharp!

Sometimes you just get a good one, and the price doesn't matter.

My advice is, if you really love that guitar, dont look for a higher end equivalent. There is so much variability in construction and wood, etc, that you'd probably spend a lot of money and just be disappointed.

Be glad you found "the one". Most people search for years and spend a whole lot of money before finding it.
