I need your help i have the option to get either a RG652MPB Prestige or a Jem woody im walking away with one of them. I play mostly heavier stuff. Your opinions would be appreciated

Don't worry Glen, i got this... USED 7VWH.

But seriously, out of those 2 i'd pick the 652 as its Japanese made with better hardware and a better case (at a lower price too).

Re: Major Purchase Dillema

How about a used jem 505? Would you choose that over the 652?

Yes at similar price/condition. Better color (white or black) & resale later if you want to sell.

This is simple as evidently they have them both there and you'll get to play and inspect them in person. Of those 2 I'd actually go for the JEM but only in it's a good build, I don't think you're going to like the MPB as much in person but only you can tell that for sure. If you have to take something [don't you hate music stores with store credit only policies?!] take the one that fits what you play the best and you like the best. Don't ask anybody else but yourself.

I’m disappointed to hear that the MPB doesn’t sound as good in real life as it looks online!

Whoa! Did you just say Premium over Prestige? Does anyone live near Rich? Can you go by and check on him?

JK, you did qualify it with the, "only if it's a good build" statement.

The JEM Woody is probably their prettiest guitar right now - work of art. We both know you just like it because it has a Panga Panga fretboard though

I don't know why they are putting the Edge on the JS24P, but not on Premium JEMs?

Re: Major Purchase Dillema

Average Joe is going to pick up a good build WDP and any MPB and he's probably not going to like the MPB as much. And I have 4 of them in stock so it's not advantageous for me to say, but it's simply the truth. Tone being subjective and several saying they don't like the GS's and if you want the Wizard neck you're not getting it in the JEM.

Re: Major Purchase Dillema

Who decided to not do a matching headstock veneer on those? Never noticed that before. Honestly, shaking my damn head.

I bought a 652 Nebula Burst a few months ago and its amazing. One of the best playing and sounding RGs i have. 655, rg770, RG1420f and a rgt421. The ash sounds much more punchy and lively then the basswood RGs.

I reccomend highly
