Re: The making of my custom King V

Oh yeah, the guitar is for standard E tuning, despite the baritone scale.

Sweeeeeeet!
With that cutout, it looks like it would be an Ibanez ProLine King V...nice job!

Sexy! And 27" scale always makes me wonder this. . . . .

What're you tuning it to? My vote goes to drop F#

Haha, well, drop F# belongs to my 8 string guitars. This one, for sustain and sharp attack, goes in E standard like the other dude said.

Re: The making of my custom King V

Put some Bourns pots in there. What color are you going to paint it? Will you match the paint on the headstock? Whatever you do, don't paint the back of the neck, just tung oil it!

Looks very nice!

P.S.: Check this out (food for thought)

Re: The making of my custom King V

You going to use 8s? Because otherwise a 27" scale in E is not going to be fun to bend on.

I will have the neck painted yes. I prefer it painted or matte for feeling, I know bare wood (durr durr) gives the best tone, but I don't like the playability. The guitar will be black with white bevels.

There will be put .046/.009s on it. The 27" scale is purely for chords because the extra tension and length of the string gives a nice chunk of sustain and clarity.
