If you've played it, and its been your favourite with the consideration of price... then yes

i played a friends yjm strat, (its very diffrent than my rg 1570(scalloped frets, maple fretboard,3 single coils))and i liked it.it's obviously a perfect guitar for shredding-but i m not sure about a thing.is it a good guitar for blues ? there are also many good guitars in the price range(jem 7dbk-js1000-1200-2000-srv strat vs) should i consider one of these guitars?i play mostly blues and instrumental rock---which one would suit me best?

I'll probably get flamed,.....
I've had all three guitars - forget the Malmsteen for jazz- that dog don't hunt- but you will be happy with either Ibanez model I'm sure.

I think it's pretty obvious the SRV Strat is the best choice for blues- and it's a great guitar for a 55 year old design, but it's limited in comparison to the Jems and even the JS models.
If I were to pick just one guitar for everything it would be the Jem hands-down- but that's just me....go play 'em and see...

I had one for about 5 months but sold it. I never got totally comfortable with the scalloping. I actually think it's harder to play fast with a scalloped neck and I didn't like it on the lower frets playing chords. It does feel awesome for bends and vibrato though. It could definitely be used for blues, the pups are still single coils and not very high output.

If the scalloped neck and Strat shape are the main selling points for you, you may want to look into the less expensive Ritchie Blackmore model.

I've kicked the YJM strat back and forth for a LONG time now.
And as a dealer with FMIC, (they own Fender, Jackson Guild etc etc..)
I can get one at a decent price.. But the main thing that always stopped me was the 21 fret issue.
I can live with 22 frets.. But NO SIR on 21.

Id rather have an old Jazzmaster if I had to go down to 21 frets...
So Im permanantly out forever on this Model...

Ah!
I guess Yngwie is just a better
guitar player than me

If you'vve been around here as long as I have, You may have read a thread I wrote about a REALLY bad stage expereince with a 'less than" 24 fret guitar.

It was horrific....

could just buy a new 22 fret neck for it.... or if your gunna go through that much trouble just build yourself a Malmsteen strat. I'm sure you could do it for cheaper if not the same price. Get a strat body, a strat neck and scallop it. vintage style trem and some YJM and HS-2 pickups and you got yourself a malmsteen strat!
