Maverick SF1 Custom

Just got the Maverick I recently bought back from the ex Asia touring guitar tech who did a phenomonal pro setup on it for me. Plays like an absolute dream. Only 4 of these in the world in this colour. Thought I'd post some pics. Thanx for looking. BTW I have this guitar up for sale at the mo. Please see the classifieds section for more details.

Re: Maverick SF1 Custom

Are those two roller-looking things the tone and volume controls?

Yeah that's right. The neck also features 'fret vents' i.e the offset fretmarkers are drilled right through the neck so you can see through the neck. You can make these out from the bottom 2 pics.

What purpose do fret vents serve?

Well I could say that they keep the neck nice and cool after an intense period of super fast shredding but I'd be bullsh**ting, lol!!. Seriously though they are purely cosmetic.

Re: Maverick SF1 Custom

Ineresting guitar I remember trying one of those Streetfighers with the fret vents, but the trem just wouldn't stay in tune

They did however offer great colours during Ibanez's "dark grey, dark blue, dark black" period

Yeah, they're a bit off the beaten track. A nice alternative to Ibanez, Jackson etc. I've no probs at all with th trem staying in tune on this one even before the pro setup.

Played one once and I thought the trem really let it down. I am not sure whether it was a cheap model, but the whole thing felt pretty crappy actually.

Never seen the see through dots before, they are wild

Must have been a cheaper model mate. I own and have owned some pretty high end guitars in my time like Jems, Ibanez J Customs, Caparisons etc and this guitar stands up well in terms of playability to them. The trem on this is great. Reminds me of the Lo Pro Edge.

Re: Maverick SF1 Custom

Cool looking axe.
Looks like they took a JS and RG model and mixed in a lil Ferrari to cap it off.

If I had the money, I'd be sorely tempted.
