MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

Hi -
Anyone have/tried these? Looking at the Classic 78 or Unchained as a one humbucker guitar. What's the neck like (ibanez thin, jackson flat, fender thick, etc...) and the build quality (compared to big brand names)?
Any personal pics if you do own one?

thanks in advance,

jeff

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

I heard only good things about them. Try asking some people over at kramerforum.com a few there have bought stuff from them.

Regards

André

Yeah, actually that's where i was suggested to go and check out for suggestions. Everyone there seems to like it; i just wanted to see what everyone here felt about them.
Seriously debating b/t this and a jackson dk2m.........

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

I had an Unchained.. The neck is nowhere near Ibanez thin.. It's more like a thick Fender.. Mitch is a good guy.. The Unchained I had was very close to the Kramer 84 I now have in terms of feel and playability

There it is, seems like any topic around here where it is the least bit relavent (or even in some cases irelavent) people drop an eddie insult. Don't you people have anything more constructive to say? If not, please don't post.

Also, i'm surprised it wasn't andre.... (Just kidding bud)

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

i was being honest cos eds lawyers do tend to try and keep anything EVHish off the markets!! i remember hearing all the issues that came from the ibanED guitars! surely meanstreet guitars have a very limited life span due to that?

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

ok i guess youve pointed out i dont know the fine details, but read the post properly and you will see that it was a fairly light hearted nod to how EVH style guitars are trying to be kept exclusive and that most others that try and build one dont do so for very long

My apologies,

i do realize now that the reply does hold some humoris truth. I've just been real frustrated with the opinions of EVH around here lately...

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

The owner Mitch is a great guy. Very cool and nice to talk too.

Here's the issues with the guitars. I know because I had one.
They look of them is fantastic. Cool tops and sharp looking.

Pickups - Change Em.

The Floyd Rose is a Licensed Floyd. It is the cheapest version they make. It will NOT stay in tune.

Neck is like a Baseball bat. If you like THICK, your gonna love this one.

I think the basis for the guitar is great, but you will need to mod the crap out of it.
I purchased one years ago, and didnt know what real quality was at the time.
You have to understand the picture you see, is the guitar you will get, but the picture does not really get into the main things that make a quality quitar.

If it wont stay in tune why have it?

This is very useful. Baseball thick - like a steinberger neck?
Also, what about the ping floyd rose - does that help with staying in tune at all?

Thanks again,

Jeff

Re: MeanStreet Guitars anyone?

I am not familiar with the Ping Floyd Rose.

However I do have a set of Ping I3's and a Ping G5 Putter, I really like them. I thought about getting one of the new Ping Drivers but I recently purchased a Callaway X460
