Question Mmm 1

Does any one have one of these!! I tried one out at a music store and it was unusal withe the super heavy strings.....I have to play a lot of songs that are in standard tuneing with only the E drop to D ...my question is can i put lighter strings on this guitar such as 10's or 11's and wiil it still sound good and play correctly thanks every one!!!

Re: Mmm 1

Firstly, MMM is a baritone. So, it's made for low tunings. Also, the neck scale is longer than standard guitars.

Putting standard strings on it with standard tuning - or dropped D - you'll feel those strings a little floppy IMO.

If you like MMMs with standard strings on, why not try SZ? But, different electronics, scale, and no string-thru bridge tho! If those 3 criterias are no concern to you, you should try SZ models.

BTW, I don't have an MMM, that's just my opinion

Re: Mmm 1

i own the MMM1, have never played it in std tuning- it's not meant to be. if you intend to only deture 1 string on the guitar, heed the SZ advice.

i also own the SZ320WB/ 2020.
