Really, if youre gonna go that route get an old non-prestige RG... Prestiges are nice in their own right!

Pick up an old RG550, it won't be cheap though as if you want the guitar with a finish then you're going to have to get it stripped and repainted if you're after a money grip.

I second that! It's a shame to do this to a Prestige.

Re: MOdding RG Prestige Like a JEM

Why would it be a shame? It's not like a Prestige is a limited edition/custom, or anything. Now, if it were a J-Custom, or something like that, I could maybe see your point, but this is just a production model.

I say go for it!

I suppose, although the finishes on the Pretige models are usually quite nice and to be honest they are nice guitars. I wouldn't want to carry out any mods on a guitar unless it was pretty beat up or not worth much. If he does the mod to his prestige then he HAS to get a decent finish on it or else it'll just be shameful :P

What model RG is it anyway?
