Modification and Warranty?

Lets say I swap Pickups, Will this void the warranty on my S420? Ibby's warranty isnt really clear on this, But I'd like to do new Pups, at the same time I am afraid I will void warranty if I ever need it while I still have it. Bought brand new from Authorized dealer.

Re: Modification and Warranty?

i doubt you will ever need the warranty, i didn't even know they had one till a while ago, even if something does break(unlikely) they probably wouldn't do much. do the swap

Re: Modification and Warranty?

It will void the electronics warranty, but not the structural. I just saw this same question posted over at the ibanez.com forum.

Re: Modification and Warranty?

You could also re-install the originals before bringing it in for any warranty work

Re: Modification and Warranty?

That is what I needed to know. I also doubt Ill need to do any warranty service, but you never know. I got some extra cash and a Dimebucker laying around. Going to dive in on that one. I never thought to look on Ibby's site, thought JEM site would be just fine for such a question.

Thanks guys. The Dean ML is also getting a Dimebucker when It finally gets here. So Ill also have a set of nice chrome high output pups to install into something else when removed from the dean.. The ML has been a treat to play, but feels nothing like the 420.

The ML is a great guitar, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it for a long time to come.........I'm a big fan of the early year ML's and especially the Z's!!!!

I'd love to find a nice '76-'83 Brazillia burst Z!!! My buddy has an '82 maple top trans cherry Z that still has the original zebra pups in it.......Damn fine guitar!!!

Re: Modification and Warranty?

this is a 2005ish model. This is the first ML since my DFH. So easy to hold.
