More New Additions. Kramer vs Hamer...

More budget stuff keeps appearing from UK Evilbay. First off: Hamer Californian :

's ok, I suppose. Very well put together, decent hardware, plays well. Surprisingly vintage profile to the neck for a guitar so obviously aimed at the shredder market, but that's fine by me. Likewise, the neck pickup is pretty vintage sounding (low output, particularly compared to the humbucker).

Second one is a Kramer Striker 422S from the unloved MusicYo period :

Great neck, comfy feel. TERRIBLE pickups. Very high output but no character to them at all.

So the Striker will be my next project, in the style of Jan Cyrka's old Nightswans. Details to follow in a dedicated thread.

Dude--those Kramers suck! Don't waste your money. Why not pick up an older Ibanez RG? You could get a decent deal on a 550 or 570.

The Kramer is fine, honestly (apart from the pickups). And it seems to be a single piece alder body under the paint.

Fancied someting different this time. I already have 4 RGs and 2 RGTs...

If it ends up wrong, I'll call it art and hang it on the wall.

Dude...I dig Kramers, but usually the vintage ones. That Hamer Cali is way cool.
