Musicians Friend RG2550e $999.00

Looks like whoever took advantage of the MF 2550e sale at $699.99 got a good deal....myself included. I was looking around and for the heck of it checked the 2550's and saw they were listed back at $999.99.

Depends on actual model. There are a few variations of each depending on year.

It also looks like they won't have anymore of the Galaxy White.

Mainly the pickups and inlays.

I think the 1550 was only available in '03 and '04, then came back in '09 and '10. the main differences were inlay's (dot's on the 1550's and ghost sharkies on '07 and later 2550's) and pickups (V7-S1-V8 on 1550's, DiMarzio/IBZ's on the 2550's). Obviously the 1550's always had maple fretboards, while the 2550's had rosewood.

I'm pretty sure that they always had the same necks as each other, however the profiles did change through the years.

The 2550 has binding on the neck unlike the 1550. But the last time a bought a 2550 was 2009 so it may have changed

Hasn't changed, they still have neck binding.

Re: Musicians Friend RG2550e $999.00

The price hike is crazy. I also got in on the deal, and since joined this site. I actually got mine for $559 as a "used" one. I can say that there was not much used about it. Terrific deal. I did find that the ground wire had detached from the claw, but that was a super easy fix. I found that even before plugging in, so don't know if it caused any buzz or why it happened to be an MF return. I haven't played any of my other guitars since. It is really awesome not to have to tune 5-6 times while practicing. I'd say though compared to a Fender American Standard Strat at around the same price, I think the guitar is probably still worth it, even at $999.
