Smile My 2 Pacificas (UPDATED)

I have been on a hunt for about the last 3 years for these 2 guitars and thanks to endless stalking of e****, ruthless bidding based strictly on emotion and international shipping charges that rival the price of oil, I FINALLY possess my 2 favorite guitars. Check 'em out.

which model are they? I used to own 2 1412 which I believe are among the rarer guitars I ve ever owned. Amazing craftmanship on those.

Awesome pics! Congrats mate. These are VERY hard to come by.

Michael Lee Firkins used to play on these models.

Re: My 2 Pacificas

Those guitars certainly rock. Congrats.

Many people, though, have said that they weren't fond of the tremolo system on these models. What's your opinion? Is it really an inferior system?

Re: My 2 Pacificas

Btw, while looking at the pics, I noticed the placement of the pickup selector switch. I've never seen it quite like that on any other guitar before.

Nevermind. It was kind of a silly question in hindsight. There's probably nothing wrong with the trem.

Re: My 2 Pacificas

The trem took some getting used to while changing strings. You leave the ball end on the string and load it from underneath. Also, this is going to be hard to explain, but the trem arm pops in and is stabilized by this piece that screws in around it. I once had a 1221M that I was super pumped but when I got it, it didn't have that one crucial piece that kept the trem arm in there and of course you can't find those pieces. There must be a method to why the piece could even be removed in the first place but once it gets lost, that's it. Other then that, I really like the trem. It's more like a lo-pro then a floyd.

Re: My 2 Pacificas

Oh, and as far as the pickup selector location, I think it's there to stay out of the way of strumming. Like I said, I owned a 1221M and the location of the switch was so close to the strumming area that I always knocked it out of place. Another cool feature is that the bridge pickup is tapped and wired to a push-push pot on the tone control. Sounds really amazing.
