Re: My 20th rg is boring!

a can of white spray paint, a can of black spray paint and a roll of masking tape? Worked for some chap called Ed. Might get you lynched here Although George Lynch has tone, so that might work out

You could go for "bobbin toppers" if those are still made, I'd go for them in green myself if I was changing colours, but I actually like a 550 is stock colours.

White pickguard, and lots more practice. If you don't have a copy of Jack Zucker's "Sheets of Sound", get one. Guitars only get boring when your practice routines get boring and your learning stops.

No, ive tried that before, not a good idea.

the idea is that if I dont like it I could change it back...

Change the pickguard. That would make a huge difference an not be permanent.

Re: My 20th rg is boring!

Actually thats not boring at all. My first guitar was actually red with a black pickguard and a maple neck though, so I have a little spot in near and dear in my heart for that look.

I think it looks sharp.Maybe a yellow single coil cover? not digging the green.
or you could have it painted the same color as the pattern on that chair pillow. that will liven it up!
