My day at guitar center

well it's been a while since i've played a guitar, let alone the two I played today and I gotta say today was fun, I was a bit rusty but I got to play a really nice caparison and a 2007 JEM7VWH

The Carvin was awesome IMO great tone, awesome neck, awesome everything rated really high in my book

as for the Jem....well I've owned one and I can honestly say IMO they're are not as good as the older Jems (pre 03) the rosewood made the tone a bit diff (as it should) cause I'm used to ebony, the bridge I did like cause I've only really had one other guitar with edge pro, but also the neck in itself was too "stiff?" plus there was no "glossy" finish to it. Great guitar but if I got another Jem it would be a used one with ebony.

Here are some pic's

my buddy's carvin

That Carvin looks very nice.I can never play a guitar in a store unless they have soundproof booths!

awww...i thought you said you got to play a caparison!

Still, the JEM looked sic, and the Carvin was pretty sweet.

Yeah, sometimes you can find some real gems (no pun intended ) at a Guitar Center.

Edit: 2,000 posts! I feel good.

Re: My day at guitar center

That carvin is sick! I like the non-rounded body shape for Carvins personally but the top and color is super nice on that one. What were they asking for it?

I'm VERY tempted to bring a couple axes I'm not using mush into GC in JAX and see what kind of trades I could make. I got my last axe from a GC for a FRACTION of the new selling price

As much as everyone complains about GC they definitely make some wicked deals on the prices

I should have bought a used Tom Anderson drop top for $1400 last time I was in a GC that they were selling.

That carvin is gorgeous - if that was a 7, I'd NEED to own it.

Re: My day at guitar center

I don't think they offer a different option on the shape of the 66. It is what it is.

I want that CT6 someone posted recently - looked like a PRS killer to me
