My EX3700

guu.jpg

This is my Ibanez EX3700 (sorry that's the only pic i have on me, I'm at work )
I have never seen another with my own eyes. I have seen them on the internet but not too often. This guitar plays like a dream. I have heard people say they are low quality but it is far from it, I will never part from this guitar.

It has EMG 85/81 in the neck and bridge (Bought it with them in it)
and I threw a EMG-SA in the mid.

Guitar is a beast.

Re: My EX3700

That's awesome. I love seeing unusual older models. I have the EX1700F which is a semi-hollow version of that, but with a non locking trem.
Despite being the low end range, I find myself really liking the EX series. Necks on them are very comfy.

That too is awesome, I have never seen that guitar. yeah, the neck is so amazing, I tend to neglect some real nice guitars because of that guitar. I'll post some better pictures when i get home.

Nice guitars guys. That semi-hollow EX is interesting, never seen one like that before.

Very short run between 93/94. Think it ended due to poor sales. If I recall it never appeared in any of the catalogs, only a supplemental one from Winter 93.
Would love to get my hands on another one or two.

How does that thing sound? That is cool. I haven't seen one of those either.

Came with Ibanez Powersound pickups, which are usually referred to as 'Poorersound'. Those got dumped and I stuck a DiMarzio Evo in the bridge and a Paf Pro in the neck. Running it with a 5 way superswitch which coil splits them in positions 2 and 4. Sounds fantastic.
The semi-hollow is really just a gimmick chamber on the top half, so it still retains the sound of a solid body.

Halfstack, that looks awesome. LOVE that half pickguard. Is that a modified RG one or custom job to fit?

It is custom but i do believe the RG would work perfect just cutting it in half. Mine doesn't have that sharp long point that the RG's have

They were the made in Korea in 1993-1994, they were made as an experimental RG. They made them EX's so that if they didn't do well they wouldn't ruin the reputation of the RG.... But like I said before, don't believe anybody that says they are low quality, it is just someone who probably looked up the guitar online and saw where it was made and has never played it. If i come across another I will not hesitate to buy it.
