My first attempt at building a guitar, the prototype...

is not too shabby. I came up with this design a couple weeks ago, and I was really liking it.

This is just made out of 2x12 lumber, but I have some real wood and parts on the way.

Check out this KILLER maple top i bought. 190066574298 great price on it too!

Go easy on me, it's my first time, and I am no where near finished it! I need to smooth the edges and fill in some holes

Ha, what is that?

Edit: Now I see where the neck joint would be. Looks good for a first job, although too "B.C. Rich" for my tastes.

Nice design, well done.

Interesting shape. And it looks like it will be playable whilst sitting down. Which is a huge plus with pointy guitars or a v.

What are you thinking of doing for the neck?

Thanks, I'll probably get one off e bay. There are some Jackson style necks w/ maple fretboards that look pretty nice, and they are only $100

TOTALLY off topic...but I looked at your location and corpus actually means body in Latin, not corpse.

You may already know that but I felt the need to add it in.

Nice job on the body though, and good luck building your guitar!

I know, same difference. How much cooler is corpse of christ though?

That looks cool, at first I couldn't see it, but now I get it. That's one hell of a V design!

It's so little! I could never play anything that deviated too much from a strat shape (full body, 2 cutaways).

Very nice and interesting body shape. That will indeed look killer when maple top comes on .

thats easy man, cut all the edges at a 45 degree angle or hand round it with sandpaper.. You can use all sorts or tools to do it.

Ya, I was going to do the edges with an angled router bit, but how do you do the jackson style bevels (easily)

See how it is in some places, and gradually isn't? i would love to do that.
