Re: My Guitars (So far......)

That's a great and heavy collection and certainly not what I would call small! An 8 string RG or Tosin would be totally wicked to add to that.

Don't fear it, get it. Heck you can start with 8 string RG for $400 dollars and if you find it's too much, you wouldn't have put down a grand or two.

I want to add a trumpet to the piano and guitars already in house and I see one Conn instrument right now for four hundred and if I find I suck at it, I can still keep it and not feel guilty. I don't need to go out and buy a $1,000 dollar Conn or Yamaha because they are "better" trumpets to start with. I will know enough from spending four hundred and seeing if I progress on the thing. If I don't, then I am not a trumpet player because there are plenty of great players with said four hundred dollar Conn.

For the 8 string, there is no exact rule as to how you have to tune the 7th and 8th strings. Tosin Abasi, well enough versed in music theory, still keeps at least one of his 8th strings tuned to low E to simplify things. I would do the same too and either make the 7th a low B or a low A. With low E on 8th and low A on 7th, you can do a lot of cool octave work on the fly.

But anyway:

Hey mate,

Is just a 1996 JS100 (old TRS II Bridge)... I got it stripped and painted black, drew on it with paint pens, and got it clear coated.... the little switch activates some blue LEDs behind the bridge and pickups....
