My new 7-string (with pics)

Hi all,
Pics below of my new 7. I'm not sure it'll be everyone's thing because the piece of wood on the front is pretty unusual, but I love it. The back is a dark piece of mahogany with a thick spalted burl maple front, and it's just oiled and waxed. The grain on the maple is really weird; very complicated with some quilting and spalting, etc in different places. And I really like the fact that the front is thick so you can see the grain going across the front and down the sides of the body. I ought to point out that the front is completely flat; the grain looks rough in places but it's just the grain pattern.
It has a stock RG7620 neck and Lopro trem. And a dimarzio D-sonic7 in the bridge position, with a volume pot and micro switch which switches between series, parallel and coil-tapped.
Looking forward to trying it at full volume at my next gig - I'll give some opinions afterwards on the D-sonic cos I haven't tried one before.
Cheers,
Rich

I like it! Very unique. I like the patterns on the front. Almost looks like stone or marble. Very cool.

That is awesome. Absolutely awesome. How have you stopped the spalting process without sealing it in a finish other than oil?

I have to say, your work is by far my favourite of any of the Ibanez-ish luthiers/customisers on this forum. I really admire the work at the same time as being able to personally love the designs and guitars. Very tasteful. If you ever feel like giving classes... PM me!!!!

, I really like it!, very original as well compared to the other custom RG/JEM/UVs, just needs a neck pickup.

Isnt it heavy?

Very freaking cool. That just screams for a blank ebony fretboard.
