My new baby

I've had a 470L for the longest time and for a while I considered upgrading it by adding new pickups, bridge and eventually a paint job......then I saw this for sale hehe and now my old 470's getting a nice clean and then she's up for sale. I'll probably stick some new pups in this thing eventually plus I ordered the locking stud mod kit from Rich for the bridge on this.....but...here she is..

http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/pau...bum?.dir=/a4b1

The finish is lovely, as soon as the light hits it, it goes from a nice deep blue to the sparkyness you see in the pics. It's been set up wonderfully too and plays itself. I'm VERY HAPPY. My wallet isn't though hehe, but getting some £££ from my 470 should ease the pain a little.

(Oh and do excuse the horrible furniture/carpet colour class hehe. We had the front room done and we're waiting for the new suite.)

Re: My new baby

Lol in my excitement I should have said it's a RG1570L in Mirage Blue, got it from Machinehead after I saw the link here.

Probably knew that though, you're a smart bunch

Re: My new baby

Yeah,That does look really nice! Sweet colour too.
It looks the right way round when you look at the back shot.

I was thinking about getting the right-handed version of this guitar but I had an '03 model 1570 and was dissapointed with it (think it may have been a duffer actually).

I'm going through a particularly indecisive guitar purchasing time at the moment.

How about giving us a full 'review' type of thing? That would be handy and might even help me with my difficult decision.

Re: My new baby

Well I thought I'd give it a whirl seeing as it's both a step up from the RG470L and it's the only Prestige lefty available (to my knowledge). I've only been playing a few years and this my 3rd ever guitar (started off with a strat copy > RG470L > now the 1570L). It just feels better than my other Ibanez, it's kinda hard to describe lol.

One thing I can say for sure though is the difference a good setup makes - my 7 played so much nicer when I had it set-up properly. The guys at Machinehead said they'd set it up perfectly for me and I think they've done a very good job.

I'm having some fun with it right now, but if you want to know anything specific just ask.

Re: My new baby

'Dreaming Neon Black', a quick question for you.

I know it's irrelevant really but the new logo on the headstocks this year,is the one on the 1570 just white (the 'Ibanez'+'Prestige' writing) or is it the irridescent Pearl inlay type like the ones on the RGA's and the high-end older model RG's?

It's just been bugging me 'cause you can't tell in the pictures.

The headstock is inlayed. It isn't just a painted logo. Atleast not on my 1570L Awesome lookin guitar man, damn UKers don't have to follow the rule of all lefty guitars being black

Re: My new baby

Thanks 'Koss'+ 'DNB'.
I thought the '05 1570's were the same colours worldwide?

Re: My new baby

That's crazy isn't it?

I wonder what the reasoning behind that is.It can't be that they think people who play LH guitars in North America only buy black guitars.
If it was the same everywhere you could perhaps put it down to the fact that they had Black LH bodies left over from last year and were just using them up.

I can't figure out that one at all!
