My new Ibanez Gambale FGM400

Well, this is the last guitar of the GAS-iest year of my life!

http://picasaweb.google.es/caprile/IbanezFGM400

This is the lightest guitar I have ever played, and also the "flattest" one. If you count the really flat fingerboard, the recessed trem and pickups, it's almost a paper sheet! LOL

I don't have a S here, but I think the FGM's body is narrower? the trem block actually comes out of the back cover! I suppose it's the long block and eventually I can swap it for a short one (41-31 mm if memory serves correctly)

Happy holidays to everyone!!!!

Re: My new Ibanez Gambale FGM400

The bridge on my S540 can't have a "block-lok" because it would smack the trem against the backplate on pull-ups.

The FGM's bridge sat lower in the cavity because the neck pocket was routed deeper, making everything set-up closer to the face of the guitar.

Sweet guitar, btw.

Re: My new Ibanez Gambale FGM400

I might have to let mine go...

I don't really like mine, I have a 91 DY, MINT except for one little ding.
I don't like the small frets. I would prefer his mods like the recessed pickup rings, but wish it had the same jumbo frets as my other LTDs.

anyone interested? PM...

Re: My new Ibanez Gambale FGM400

congrats on your axeuitition.

I've got a 90 FGM100 and you are right that it is paper thin. But it's light on the shoulder and a shredder for days. I wouldn't like the small frets on all my guitars but this one is a nice change and is a perfect fit for someone with smallerhands.
