My new Ibanez J-Custom RG8670

I recently oreder/bought a new Ibanez J-custom RG8670. Limited Edition in the U.K. Only Japan and [for this year] U.K. [officially] sell the J-customs and the Japanese Prestige.

Two days ago I RECIEVED IT

I creamed my pants 5 times, whenI recieved it, and 5 times before I even recieved it :naughty:

I've tried it numerous times at the stores, and fell in love, with it's amazing playability. And so I bought it..and my god does it feel lovely.

Here's the specs:

Flame Maple/Mahogany body
5pcs. Maple/Bubinga neck
Ebony w/Flame Maple Binding fingerboard
Edge Pro bridge
DiMarzio Air Norton (H) neck pu
DiMarzio Blue Velvet (S) mid pu
DiMarzio Tone Zone (H) bridge pu
5 Way Switching
Vine inlay
Gotoh Tuners

And it's beauty [in my opinion ]. It offers amazing sound, relaly nice tone from the DiMarzio Pickups espcially the Air Nortons clean, nice sustain, Amazing feel on the neck, *so smooth* :naughty: It's taken me 6 years to have my second electric..as my 'rents wouldn't allow me...

I just recently, come off playing after setting the whole thing up in 1hr 15min, which is not bad for a guy that hasn't had a floyd etc. But slight problem....The action is still still too low...i've made the trem parallel to the body, and tuned/fine tuned the guitar. But when i'm dive bombing the Strings are attracted to the pickups instantly. I'm not quite sure how to actually raise my action without re setting the trem as I've de tuned my guitar.. please help

so Below are some pictures of the J-custom, and my crappy rig. hehe.

Is the action too low playability wise or just for the dive bomb problem? If it's just for the latter, perhaps you need to lower your pickups.

Umm the action is quite nice and Low...wouldn't mind raise a little bit, BUT it plays very fine - action wise..so I'm not worried..

It's the dive bombing problem...I was thinking the action was too low..as I lower the whammy...slowly..the strings are attracted to the Pickup magnets itself...

I had that problem with mine. I've lowered the pickups and it doesn't happen any more. To my ears, the pups sounded a little too loud when I got the guitar and they're much better now.

Lovely guitar! On the setup issue, you could probably shim the neck to raise the bridge up a bit...you can still set up for low action, but this will get the strings further from the pups and likely help trem movement as well.

Is it just me, or did anyone else see that green acoustic and immediately think "EP7!"

Gorgeous guitar! I'd take that over a mirrored Jem any day of the week. I wish they were available here in the States, I'd consider buying one new.

Yeah dude, that inlay is awesome. These guitars seem to be becoming very popular recently. And I can see why!

Got it from the UK..well I live there...

Bought it off www.guitarampkeyboard.com - as it was the cheapest,

I tried it at a store , and fell in love....

It's a really nice guitar to play..and I adore it to bits...

If you can get hold of one, I recommend it.
