Re: My new old Les Paul

nice, very tasteful appointments. Always dug the tone and looks of pauls but never liked how they played as much.

Re: My new old Les Paul

Wow, what a great looking guitar! I used to play a LPC in the 70's, they are great guitars. The finish, the hardware, it all looks fantastic. Congrats!

Re: My new old Les Paul

The tint seems to have run into the binding a little

Re: My new old Les Paul

Whoops... I posted this in the wrong forum - it should be in other 6 strings. If the admins can move it, that would be great.

Now, this is an 81 Gibson Les Paul Custom that was cut into pieces. I got it off someone from another forum that got it off the bay. I decided to bring it back to life. It's my first refin, but it came out cool and sounds even better. There were binding and scraping issues, but I didn't mind since this is an old guitar anyway, the mojo was there. Didn't want it too perfect.

Anyway, thanx for the cool comments and compliments.

Talking Re: My new old Les Paul

Yeah nice job. Personally i think its a Greco or something with a similar Gibson book style top. Then apply one of these

on the headstock. Hence the maple neck and binding not fitting perfectly round the headstock, nice job all the same though

Re: My new old Les Paul

Could be, but the Norlin year LP's had maple necks - check out Zack Wyldes. Anyway, for what I paid, real or not, it plays better than my real Gibbo's. Also, the binding doesn't fit because the headstock was amputated above the truss rod and reglued. Check the body for the cuts in the binding too. I should have saved the Made in USA stamp on the back of the neck also.
