My new purchase...

This lovely example of an 89 rg550, in the very hard to find "cantene red".
awesome condition with evo neck and d sonic bridge.
Still on the lookout for a DY tho!

I think your thinking of "Carotene Red", but yours looks alot like Road Flare Red, since its got that pinkish haze to it.

Could be just the picture, I dunno.

Re: My new purchase...

I think you're spose to have the bar on the D sonic facing the neck. Unless you like it that way.

It works great both ways. With the bar towards the bridge its a bit brighter sounding with more bite. Ive got it setup this way on my 7 string. I prefer the lead sound with it facing the neck though, its way smoother .

There's no carotene red, there's road flare red and carotene orange.
Hard to tell in that pic, but I'd guess that's an rfr guitar. CO guitars are totally, obviously orange, and tend to have come with rosewood boards as well for some reason. Nice score though, I wouldn't change anything on it!

A nice 1989 Carotene Orange 550. The RFR's have matching head stocks.
