is my new RG screwed?!?!

JUST GOT it today off the UPS guy, and lo and behold I find this. A whole pick will fit in there.

Here's the problem , if I send it back , i'tll cost me 50$ to ship to the states back to , AND Ill have to pay 30$ to receive a new one in customs fee's from the border. Im totally screwed, and I KNOW wont fit the ball for us international customers.

Can anyone tell me if this is fixable by a decent tech. Is the binding seperate from the fingerboard, or is the fingerboard likely unglued too.

Im quite upset, I also ordered a new mic and boom cable (350$ there) and they forgot the cable I ordered (XLR for my C1, so I cant use it till they send it)

For a 500$ order they send me a ****ed up guitar and im missing a 20$ cable :s

Send it back, or take it to a tech for a simple gluing?!?

Fixable. I'm certainly no expert, but you could probably do it yourself. Rich has some good tech stuff on his site. If not, find a decent luthier and you'll be shredding in no time.

I would at least TRY to get the company you bought it from to stand by their product. I understand that you're dealing with customs and all, but I find it pretty doubtful that that happened in transit. Although, it may have. I shouldn't think a reputable outfit would let that go. (Can't see who you bought it from because the forum's filter.) Maybe if you contact them right away and document the damage they'll at least cover the repair work where you are. It's worth a shot.

What model of RG is that? It's really nice looking.

Good luck with getting it repaired or whatever. I'm sure it would be an easy fix for a good luthier.

Thats a tiny little fix - certainly not worth sending it back - thats just silly.
Ask someone like Jeremy around here - they will help ya! Good Luck.

Dude that's a beautiful guitar,,, needs another string ( to make it a 7 ) be really beautiful! I agree with the god father,,, it's a fixable deal. A luthier or some good step by step advice from any of the experts here would have you up and running in no time.
I can understand being pissed about the guitar being delivered in that condition. That's unexceptable,, someone should have caught that providing it was pre-existing and not shipping damage. The cable that's also a bummer. I would make sure that the packing list didn't state back order or being shipped seperately. Then call Music123 and complain. Be cool, but firm and get you point across. I've dealt with them several times and have had no issues and have found the staff to be very friendly and obliging.

Good luck.

i called em and they were great. They are sending me a new unit, and express post with the cable!

AS well, they are paying for the shipping of my unit back to them, so i'll be able to keep it a few days till the new one comes.

music123.xom was great!

They handled it better than expected, but if they were great you wouldn't have ever seen a problem to begin with, because one with a problem would never be shipped
