Wow nice one. Congrats. By the way, did you get it from Ishibashi U-Box?

Re: My new S1620, with all its MIJ goodness

Very nice !!!! I think thats an S1520 though

I love those things... I have one just like you have in the pictures & one in Black Pearl. They are awesome guitars. I was pretty impressed with the QM1/QM2 pickups also. I left them in my FBNT 1520 & have no plans of changing them.

Re: My new S1620, with all its MIJ goodness

Yup -- I also have an S1520 and like the stock QM pickups. I've changed pups in most of my working guitars, but those stayed. I think the bubinga tops on these guitars are among the most beautiful finishes Ibanez has produced. The burl tops on the new high end S-guitars are interesting, but seem radically inconsistent.

Both of my 1520's as well as all the others I've seen have the cosmo metal knobs.

I definately want to get a few more of these.

My only complaint is that they don't come with truss rod covers

Re: My new S1620, with all its MIJ goodness

I know it's been said, just reconfirming it, it is an S1520-FBNT.

It is a lovely guitar, I also like the stock pups.

Cheers!
