Talking My new toy - EBMM SILHOUETTE

After seeing Buddroyce's Axis thread I figured posting on this site about an axe other than an Ibanez wouldn't be THAT blasfemous. Besides, I haven't been so excited abut a new guitar in a long time.

I got this in trade for my Jp7 (yes..., + cash) and she's turning out to be quite the radical change from what I was used to (for the better I'd say).
The neck on this one is as thick as a strat's neck but oddly enough I'm loving it. The side of my hand doesn't suffer when I bend strings with my thumb over the top of the neck and the AANJ still allows for easy access to the higher registers.
The Pick-ups are definetly in the lower output zone but the PAF-PRO has always been my favourite and single coils simply rule for clean sounds (as does the maple board). I may consider swapping the bridge hum for one of my new found favourites with a slight higher output: The Breed. We'll see about that.

All in all, a modern axe with vintage specs. So far, it's revealing to be the best of both worlds.

Anyway here are some pics for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy!

I just bought a MM Stingray bass, absolute top notch. It has the Piezo's which sound great and the neck is stunning, so smooth and no matter how much you sweat, the neck doesnt get sticky.

It's new toy season for everybody!!!
I don't think it's blasphemous to post guitars other than Ibanez on this forum.

Congrats on your Silhouette!

Definitely.
The necks on EBMM's are to die for. Some lovely figuring.

Looks lovely

Are the frets really as high as they look like in that fretboard pic?

Re: My new toy - EBMM SILHOUETTE

Yeah, they're starting to replace fender as my second fave brand. Although I'll have to play one to really see if they're to my liking. I do understand they have the similar neck profiles that Leo had designed. They're sort of like improved fenders. I'm a big strat/fender guy. I always find myself looking for guitars that Have that sort of feel and vibe. The jem is really just a strat on steriods. Don't go for gibsons usually. The only thing I have even close to a les paul is an ibanez iceman. I digress, nice axe!!

Awesome man!

They wont make them with a Floyd anymore, so hold onto that one, they're hard to find.

I really want an Ernie Ball, they play and feel so beautiful. Either that Rosewood Axis, or an Albert Lee.

I'm diggin' the floyd. Stays in tune very well and now that I've figured out how to raise the bar a litlle bit, it responds very well to my touch. Besides you can adjust the looseness of the trem arm which is a really nice extra over the Ibanez models. I had no idea they don't make them wih floyds anymore... anyway, not really an issue since this one's not going anywhere.

Improved Fenders is a really apporpriate term IMO. As a matter of fact if you take a look at the Silho it's nothing but a hot-rodded Strat and the Axis is nothing but a hot-rodded Tele. I'm getting an Axis as soon as I sell my Jem!

BTW Gex if you go to the EBMM forums there's a guy selling one of those rosewood Axis at a very nice price. I would have already grabbed it if it wasn't because I only play maple boarded instruments

THX again guys !

Sorry about that man... You see them go on the bay quite often so don't worry, you'll find another one soon enough.
