Mystery RG

Hey!

Just bought an RG. But I'm having a hard time tracking down what model it is!
The headstock reads "F932900" or something like that, so it's made in '89.

I proceeded to check every catalog from '89 I could find, and found the RG750.

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be greatful!

My guitar:

The catalog:

Thanks in advance!

Re: Mystery RG

Take the neck off and see if there's a stamp on either the neck or the body. It's most likely just a refinished 750 though.

Re: Mystery RG

RG750. Not a DX - DX was the model with the color matched inlays on a maple fretboard.

Re: Mystery RG

For gods sake, its an RG750. Look at the catalogue linked. The 750 was available in black, his guitar is black, all the hardware matches, the pup config matches, the year matches.

Its an RG750BK

From that catalog, I like Gilbert's Ibanez Telesavalas. LOL!

If you're talking about his REH video Intense Rock, I have that video and I wasn't sure if this was the same guitar. I'm fairly certain it didn't say TELESAVALAS on the headstock, however.

Re: Mystery RG

Yes, it is a Rg750 made in 1989, Body seems stripped on paint, sanded down. Do you know wich color it had from factory? I would guess black. But it's hard to tell from just one picture.

Sadly I don't. The previous owner didn't make any modifications to it, so it's hard to say. But my guess would be an oroginal black.
When I get home I'll post more pictures of it!

Re: Mystery RG

It might be made in 93 instead of 89.
