NAMM - Jan '10

Lots of other threads are already being over run by NAMM shots and talk, so just to leave UV threads about UVs and such, a master for NAMM discussions and pics and the like.

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

I'll start it off:

Nice to see the natural finish back on the PM 120. I never particularly cared for black on this guitar

I know someone who said that the Ibanez PM model was just like a Samick semi hollow.. I never tried one really

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

Being that this is the "Jem and Universe" section, a NAMM thread about other Ibanez guitars doesn't make a lot of sense either, at least not in the Jemsite world.

Yeah, there are Korean PMs (like the PM35), but the PM100 (thick like an ES-175, single hum) and PM120 (thinner, two hum as pictured) have always been Japanese instruments. That guitar is about $2500 US

D'Oh! True enough. Since most of us are interested in the higher end instruments, we'll go to the Prestige area for this rather than "Other".

Of course, with the inclusion of the highly questionable MII double Xiphos, the "Prestige" section of the forums doesn't make much sense either.

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

I'm more interested in that weird 6-string

For those not aware, it's E-A-D-G fretted, then another D-G fretless. Odd!

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

Boy, Ibanez has taken the term "sharktooth" to a whole 'nother level for inlays, no?

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

Yeah, next thing you know the Pat Metheney's and George Bensons will have sharkstooth inlay.
As much as I was sad to see they did a front-route with a pickguard for a Prestige fixed bridge, I might actually pick up one of those RG1451's. For $800 street (I'm guessing) they seem pretty cool.

Re: NAMM - Jan '10

Has the Edge Pro been totally replaced by the Edge Zero now on the entire RG prestige range? Hadnt noticed those 'Super Wizard" 17mm necks before on the some models in the RG range, but I probably wasnt paying much attention. However, what about the prices, have they gone up even further now? Hope not - its getting silly.
