Neck sanding

After reading the tutorial on sanding off the oil finish of a jem neck, I want to tr it on my Jackson. But I think it has a clear gloss finish instead of tung oil. Will this modification still work?

Yup, it will still work. You may need more sanding to get through the gloss finish as it is likely thicker than the tung finish on the Ibanez.

I just did my RG550 and it feels GREAT!! I'm moving on to the rest of my collection, and anything with a maple neck is going to get sanded.

Thanks guys, I'm gonna go get the stuff to do the modification. Can't wait to feel the difference.

Jemsite/Glen-I know this should have been under the repairs and modifications section. I didn't think of looking for a section of repairs and stuff.
