neck swap possible?

Hi all -

I currently have a ibanez s420 and was wondering if it was possible to swap a neck from a rg350m to it? I really prefer maple fingerboards....

thanks in advance,

jeff

Re: neck swap possible?

No. It is not possible. However, if you don't include the neck pick up, you can actually fit in a RG550 neck instead.

Yes, it is possible... both 25.5" scale, both AANJ... why would it not work?

I'm with Linux, as long as they have the same scale length, and pocket width are the same, you should be able to do it.

Re: neck swap possible?

I read somewhere before that the S series has it's last few frets extended, kinda like the old heel blocks. If you put an RG neck, doesn't it extend the scale? I am not entirely sure myself. Someone could maybe answer this.

Re: neck swap possible?

thanks everyone for your advice.
I have decided that i don't feel like dealing with all "what if's" so i am just going to sell it and save up for a rg1550m....

thanks
