need advice on this "rg570"

So I was cruisin c-list and came across this guitar and I was wondering if I could get some help verifying that he started out with a 570 as he states. I noticed it didn't have a single coil in it and I thought they all had one. What do you guys think? His vine work looks great from the pics:

Thanks guys!!!

Re: need advice on this "rg570"

I found a "rg570" on craiggys today, and it also doesn't have a middle pickup, the pics posted suck(it's black, pics w/no flash, with a cellphone)so I'm not even gonna try to post em', I know it's a 1997-2002 cause of the bubinga stripe(unless the necks been switched) There is a pic of the back of the headstock, but not clear enough to see the number, it's japan, either '00,'01 or '02, the pics are just horrible, photoshop can't clear em up either. I asked the seller for better pics, but no response. The pics are so bad I can't even tell whether the hardware is cosmo or powder cosmo(although i'm leaning toward powder, never seen cosmo worn enough to look like that) I'm thinkin about driving 100mi to the middle of nowhere to look at it, but if I don't get better pics, i may not, anyone else got any ideas?

Sorry Todd, threadjacked ya, but that is a good lookin neck!

Seems to me that the seller took a 520 and redid the neck.

Hmm, I've never seen a 520 before. He seems pretty hard up on cash so I might have to take a look at it...any other thoughts anyone? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

It's an RG-570 with Jokomo "fretbuster" decals.

So if I go look at this thing, what should I look for? How would I know it's an original edge? Were there any 570s with just 2 humbuckers? Thanks guys!

Ha, did you read the description. He has over 100 hours in the inlay work.

haha, that's what I had a feeling about, but didn't want to say the guy was lying. after all, if he did the work, then he deserves some massive respect.

compare the trem to a picture of an original edge off the internet. look in the back if you can, the trem block should say edge unless he replaced it. a 520 is like any other 5xx series ibanez with two humbuckers.
570 = HSH
550=HSH with pickguard
560=HSS
520=HH

Ahh gotcha...it definitely looks like on original edge just from the pics (I've been googling all kinds of Ibanez edge pics haha)...so I think I'll have to go check it out just to see what the inlays look like. I've always wanted a vine of life neck anyways and if I can get this for a decent price, it might be worth it.

This is what he texted me:
"So I have a couple low ball offers would like to get 750 but I really need the cash let me know if youre still interested plays amazing call if you want more info"

Hopefully he's not on here somewhere LOL...what do ya guys think pricewise?

Re: need advice on this "rg570"

750$ is extremely laughable at best.

its an rg520.

Original edge in cosmo

thats an actual inlay... look at the very middle of the frets rob, thats not a fret buster decal, especially with the 24th fret inlays. That said, those arent the best inlays ive ever seen either.

If he could pull up receipts and it came with a case, id pay 4-500 for it, tops.

edit: 2000$ in it? that guy is such a clown. They were like 800 new, so he spent 1200 dollars on a crappy inlay? That makes him an idiot, not "awesome".

If you need resources, I have some online vendors actively selling rg570's (not 520's) for 250-300$ (multiple of them) to smack some sense into him.

Thanks Penguin!!! That's some good information! I thought that was pretty high priced too...could you send me some of that vendor info? It'd be cool to check out and maybe I could just settle with a 570
