i love the original Wizards..

are the latter two as comfortable in your hand as the original Wizards

Re: Need help figuring this out.......

"Super Wizard" is just a Org Wizard profile with the bubinga strip.

The Wizard 2 is thicker, more like a cross between a Jem and Wizard neck.

It's the same spec'd shape. The finish is a little lighter(more satiny) than the older ones. The AANJ makes more of a difference to the feel IMO. As a side note, they just called it the Wizard neck here, the "Super Wizard" name wasn't really used in the US in print catalogs or on the Hoshino USA website.

Re: Need help figuring this out.......

The Wizard II is thinner, not thicker; my S 450 has a Wizard II neck and it is slightly thinner than a Wizard.

Talking Re: Need help figuring this out.......

It appears the newer Wizard II necks are different... I did look it up, however, when I was identifying my S450. It clearly stated that the Wizard II necks were thinner than the Wizard necks.

Re: Need help figuring this out.......

They are NOT thinner than the Wizard, that's a load of crap. The WII is 2mm thicker, but there are different types of Wizard II -- Japanese, and American. Both have different profiles but the original Wizard is (and always has been) the thinnest. This is a well known fact to most Ibanez players. If you're claiming your S450 neck is THINNER then a Wizard, then you must have got a freak neck that's about 16mm at the 1st fret. No chance.

READ:
I'm just quoting what I was told at the time. I could have sworn I read that the Wizard II was thinner, although I suppose I could have mixed them up. I've been a guitarist long enough to know that the neck on my S450 is definitely thinner than the neck on my RG450 though. :P Give me a break, the last time I looked any of this up was when I was trying to replace the trem on my RG450, and that was about 3 1/2 years ago.

Off topic, can anyone direct me to a site that explains which models had which neck, so I can avoid putting my foot in my mouth next time?
