NEED HELP: Ibanez AEG10NII Grand Concert Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar (New, Bla

My wife is a musician. I purchased a new Ibanez guitar for her

Ibanez AEG10NII Grand Concert Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar (New, Black)

she is disappointed in that the D-string, fourth string from below, is buzzing a lot and sound 'hairy' when she plays it.

Is there something we can do to fix it?

Is there an easy solution?

Thank you.
Michael

Re: NEED HELP: Ibanez AEG10NII Grand Concert Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar (New,

Is it buzzing when played as the open string? Or every note on the string?

Re: NEED HELP: Ibanez AEG10NII Grand Concert Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar (New,

The buzzing does not happen all the way up and down the string, but down the guitar neck, as she plays at certain frets.

Thanks for helping.

Rich:

I'm not a musician, so I may misspeak -- and I'm trying to solve this without my wife's imput. When the string is open (left hand not touching fret), there is no buzz. At the top of the guitar there is no buzz. As she decends the guitar (middle of the guitar) the buzzing begins.

Is it a bad string? Is it just the D-String curse? My wife says all guitars seem to have a D-String problem.

We don't want to return the guitar, since we like it. We hope there's a simple solution.

Thanks for helping.

Re: NEED HELP: Ibanez AEG10NII Grand Concert Classical Acoustic-Electric Guitar (New,

There's no reason the D should buzz any more than the other wounds strings unless it's lower, which it shouldn't be. You can measure the height of each string at any fret near the end of the board to see how well the radius of the bridge matches the frets.
