Need help identifying this rg

I just got one off the bay, item # 270809258596, it was described as a rg570, but I think its a rg470. reason I say is because of the lotrs and it has a plate jack instead of a barrel type jack. Can anyone see from the pics of the auction and tell if Im right. I would post pics but I am at work at the moment.

Re: Need help identifying this rg

From what I see you are right. Looks to be an rg 470 not 570. Refer to www.ibanez.wikia.com and search those two guitars and you will see that the 00' model 570' had the Edge trem and 3 piece maple/bubinga strip in middle neck. That looks like a one piece maple (wizard II ?). I think a 570 also has a back plate for the barrel jack? Let me know what you think.

Yup, that's an RG470 since it has the Lo TRS trem.

470, and I'd be worried that the bolt that's missing from the locking nut is some how stripped, which isn't a problem is you have a tap and die set, but still be on the look out for it. should be a good guitar for 275 though.

Re: Need help identifying this rg

Well after a couple of emails, I have this taken care of. He told me it was not a 470 and that he was a ibby dealer for years and no 470's were from Japan. I know some are cause I have one. So sat night, I took the neck off and took a pic to prove it is a 470. He was nice about it and told me to send it back and he would issue all shipping costs. It didnt turn out great, but it was one of the easiest transactions Ive even had on ebay. I had the guitar in my hands less than 48 hours after purchasing, I just hate the lo trs.

So Im shipping it back tomorrow, and now I have my eyes on a rg1527m, love that maple board with 7 strings. I just dont wanna come off of 1300 bucks lol

Re: Need help identifying this rg

Glad it was taken care of. He is wrong about 470's never being made in Japan as I have a 93' 470 back when they were almost as good as a 550, IMO (same neck, same tremolo, just different pups) and MIJ. Quality of 470's certainly declined after that.

Re: Need help identifying this rg

Yes they did, my old 470 had an edge. This one I just got didnt feel right, felt too light, the tone and volume controls felt cheap as well. Could just be me, but it felt different all the way around to all my 5xx guitars.
