Need help with trem replacement for RG3XXV

Since I'm a long time floyd rose user, I dont like the Edge Zero II on my recently acquired RG3XXV. It feels bit weird in my hands so I decided to replace it with a gotoh floyd rose. You guys have any idea what floyd rose model can retro fit in RG3XXV trem cavity? I don't really want to do any major routing but taking off ZPS and drilling some holes will be fine. Thanks in advance!

I'm afraid there's probably nothing that can just retro-fit it without work on the cavities.

well if it just take a little bit wood off the cavity where the fine tuners is then it's fine. I really dont mind doing minor wood work. Any suggestion ?

Re: Need help with trem replacement for RG3XXV

You gotta route it back a bit, then you gotta fill the hole of the old trem posts and drill new ones that's narrow enough fit a normal Floyd, then you remove the backplate, thumbwheel and the plastic holder, then you fill the large gap where the thumbwheel would be with a block of wood, then you install a new trem.

If that's little work for you, then go ahead. If you're not confident with it, you can take it to a skilled luthier. I advise you adjust to the EZII, though. It's not a bad trem.

What 'feels bit weird' about it?
If it's just the stop point that's making it feel strange to you, simply remove the stop-bar and re-balance the bridge using the thumb-screw.
After doing that it'll be free-floating and its action should feel (pretty much) just like a regular Edge/Floyd style bridge.
In fact, I'm pretty sure the 450 line that has the EZII doesn't even have the ZPS anymore, at least here in the United States anyway.

Japan too, they discontinued the 350s and have the 450s without the ZPS.

Re: Need help with trem replacement for RG3XXV

Thank you all, guys. It sounds like i have to start a modification project soon! It's really bad because I like the neck a lot but the trem just "meh" for me. Maybe it is just my feeling after a long time using same thing over and over a gain.
