Need info about ibanez S-JCRG1

Hi guys, please tell me about the Ibanez/fujigen S-JCRG1 "timeless timber" guitar.
I've read they're made from very old wood, if anyone here has played one, how do they sound?
what year are they in production?
How many were made?
What is the price range for a used one?

Those guitars would have been made for Shimamura Gakki, very limited indeed. Saw a couple up for sale recently, very nice. Would love to buy one.

SHIMAMURA ORIGINAL J-Custom "TIMELESS TIMBER" SJCRG-1

Best guitar i have ever owned, sounds amazing.
Neck(thru) is 'timeless timber'(recovered virgin maple dated between 500-1500+ years old).
Body back is genuine big leaf Honduras mahogany.
Body top is AAAA quilted maple.
Fretboard is Honduras rosewood with flamed maple binding, offset abalone dots, custom made inlay.
U shaped neck,[email protected] 1st [email protected] fret,430mmR.
Lo pro edge,paf pro(bridge),Fast track(neck),Blue velvet(centre).
Lo pro edge has a machined solid steel block not the usual cast version.

Available in 3 finishes,
VSF vintage sunburst,
CSF cherry sunburst,
NTF natural.

Only 12 made,big $$$ new and I'm guessing 4 of each finish.
Amazing..amazing guitar and the Ibanez find of my life!

Not the greatest pic but....

Re: Need info about ibanez S-JCRG1

Thanks guys.. I have just bought a used one.. Should be here in a few days

@corey : Wow thats a killer quilt top..! Btw, do you mean the entire lo pro is machined steel or just the sustain block? Bcos lo pro on the one I bought looks a little different, more satin chrome/shiny.. Yours looks like grey steel indeed

@psycho : perhaps this is the one you pass off bro.. I think there's only 2 of this in our country

Just the block, the rest of the lo pro is normal.
The finish is 'white cosmo',it's frosty looking new but when its worn in it will become more chrome looking......mine was a case queen so still looks new.

Re: Need info about ibanez S-JCRG1

I finally received it. Aside from the fretboard binding has turn dirty and buckle rash in the back, it is in good condition for a 10 year old guitar.
To my surprise it is very lightweight, about the same as my basswood RG, and there's plenty of sustain.
I absolutely love the neck through! and the build quality is very, very solid
I'm thinking of replacing the neck pickup someday though, I'm looking for something more glassy and fluid for fast licks.
Overall I'm very satisfied!

Sure, I plan to do so, I need to find time this weekend.
By the way, I took off the neck pickup and it says on the baseplate "DP183" (old code for a fast track T if I'm not mistaken?) .
It doesnt look like a tele pickup at all

Fast track tele onthe neck ? Very strange.. It should be fast track 1.
I have old dimarzio vs 1 on some rg, i like it for neck position, it's not so fluid but very glassy and so typical strat neck single coil.

Re: Need info about ibanez S-JCRG1

It surely is not a fast track 1, it sounds nothing like a single coil, more like a dark humbucker..!
