New $75 Project Guitar Day - Ibanez Pro 540S USA?

So I picked this up for $75. It has a bridge pickup, not original, one of those Prestige QM bridge humbuckers. No mounting screws. The Edge bridge is brand new, he bought it as a replacement, and it has seen only a few hours of use since he took the guitar apart years ago. My friend mentioned this axe to me and I told him I'd like toget my hands on it, so he sold it dirt cheap to me. Needs a lot of work and parts, but I welcome the challenge. Apparently, these were USA made? I have no idea? Has interesting stamps inside the neck pocket. Pics :

I need some parts, if anyone knows where to locate these, please let me know. Or if ordinary floyd rose/standard guitar parts will fit, feel free to inform :
Lock blocks for Edge Tremolo
Tremolo arm for Edge
Lock blocks for the locking nut
Tremolo cover plate for back of axe
New set of neck screws (can probably buy standard ones and cut/grind to size)

Possibly built in USA, at the PA spot, but from Japanese made parts. You can get all of your Edge parts from Rich at ibanezrules.com
as far as the rest, you just seem to need pots, knobs, output jack, and a few other easily obtainable parts--check with musikron.

Will OFR/schaller nut pads/pad screws work? ibanezrules is damn expensive. I am not so stoked about paying $2-$5 for a machine screw.

somethings are well worth the money dude. With screws, bolts, nuts, etc, its one of the few things I firmly believe you get what you pay for. Lower grade hardware will rust/strip/gall out/lose threads... its not a matter of if, its when. Have you ever had a nut screw break on you before? I have, its NOT fun. Besides you only need 3

but to answer your question, yes they will fit.

Schaller isn't cheap, but I get 50% off of it, allparts dealership. So I think I will just take that route. Also what is the screw called that you tighten into the lock block? Saddle bolt? Can't find it on ibanezrules... I am thinking it is "String Lock Screw", but $2 seems way too cheap for that.

true. IIRC, H&S means Heart & Soul, which was the american custom shop where they assembled the 540S, R and P series with Japan-made parts. check this INTERVIEW with Rich Lasner, the Custom Shop head at the time, if you want to know more

look's good to me too........

BTW, you can still order the original F-2 bridge pickup from DiMarzio...They'll make you one as a custom order. I think the cost is around $125. Just send them an e-mail and they'll give you all the info.

Also, I hope your aware that this is a guitar is ABSOLUTELY worth the investment of original parts. If I were lucky enough to find one for $150, I would still put in original parts. It would still be worth more than the amount that you'd put into it.
