Hey Buz !

That 8 string looks like a lot of fun. It's got a brutal low register \m/

Did Ibanez kick you back a bit of discount on it or did you have to get it from a store ?

That makes me want one even more. I figured you'd get a custom from them, but the production model looks badass from all I've seen.

I only knew one other guy that picked like that. Fingers move, wrist doesn't. I tried it, and it just don't work for me. But I can certainly see where it would help with super fast picking. Cool video.

Re: new 8 string + new camera = buffoonery

He shares the same picking technique with me... the advantage is a more controlled aspect of precision. Basically, you can use your wrist and forearm muscles to stabilize your picking rather than moving around a whole lot and risking some slop. The best example of this is Michael Romeo... it usually appears that he's not even picking the majority of the notes he's playing.

But, then again, there's many other excellent techniques, so I don't know why I just rambled for no reason...

...but I'm definitely considering getting this guitar. I do like the fact that the first production 8 string is a Prestige. Definitely a selling point in my eyes.
