New Agile-guitars

I just stumbled upon this the other day
http://www.rondomusic.com/interceptorpro828mnwhite.html
Just wondering if you guys have any thoughts on it.
Anyone got any of the Agile 8-strings?
What about the Kahler system? Any good, or should i rather go for a fixed bridge?

Re: New Agile-guitars

Many people at sevenstring.org love agiles and own the 7 and 8 strings. I don't like kahler trems personally, I think they are pretty lack luster. I love trems but rather have a hardtail instead of a kahler

Re: New Agile-guitars

Yeah, got the new models in a email a while back.

Pretty cool stuff. I was sad to hear that there isn't any new basses coming. I love my 5 string fretless SX!

Re: New Agile-guitars

I've honestly never heard anything bad about Agile guitars.

This is more of a Gibson vs. Agile discussion, but it does have some good info:

I'm tempted to buy an Agile Les Paul copy -- seeing as how I splurged the majority of the Les Paul money on a 777DY :P

Re: New Agile-guitars

Thanks for the respons guys.
My main concern now is the Kahler.
Can anyone share some more thoughts on it?

Re: New Agile-guitars

I've never heard bad things about Agile, aside from their trems being ****ty (OFR drops in most of the time, I wont touch a Kahler myself). The necks are also alot fatter than ibby necks, but some of the 7/8 string models are REALLY hard to pass up.

Re: New Agile-guitars

I've got an 8 string agile hard tail and it is excellent. They are top notch.

As far as the kahler, i dont know why they aren't more widely used. They superior to a floyd in a lot of ways. Some say that kahlers dont travel as far as floyds but i strongly disagree in many instances.

I intend on buying another 8 string with a kahler and strongly recommend them. I have no reason to consider another brand.

Re: New Agile-guitars

Just for clarification I was referring to the OFR type trems on Agiles being crappy. A Kahler is a Kahler, but I personally don't use them.

Re: New Agile-guitars

How well are the fret ends finished? I find most lower priced guitars have sharp fret ends.

Re: New Agile-guitars

Don't know how much help this will be, but I've had several guitars with Kahlers on, generally older 80's models, but a really nice trem all the same, very stable and flutters very well.

Re: New Agile-guitars

That's the kind of things i'm curious about :-)
I've never tried a Kahler, so I pretty much have to make my decision based on other peoples experience with it.

Re: New Agile-guitars

I personally don't think the idea of an 8 string with a trem of any kind would be incredibly stable, but I'm not a trem guy anyways and I don't have any experience with a kahler so, yeah. Other than that I think it looks great.

I think if you asked someone who doesn't know Agile to play that guitar and told them they're a boutique guitar custom shop or something along those lines they'd buy it.

Pretty decent quality guitars for the money. Kahlers....not a fan.
