The New Custom Axe - DONE! w/pics

White korina body with a mappa burl top, Dimarzios (Air Norton/ Cruiser / Evo 2) with coil tap, Sperzel locking tuners, maple neck with flame maple fretboard and mirror vine inlays (green stem, chrome leaves), tonepros string thru body bridge.

The disclaimer goes again that my builder doesnt take the best pics in the world, so this looks 10x better in person and will look 10x better in the pics that I'm gonna take when I get it this weekend, but just to give you guys an idea, here's a few shots:

I've seen it in person, and the pics just dont do it justice. I'm almost tempted to put it in a glass case and never play it, but I'm a guitar player and after all these things are meant to be rocked!

Perhaps people are afraid you won't like their comments.

Wood looks cool, but the guitar is not my style.

Looks cool. Would look even cooler with a floyd on it.

Doesnt matter if I like em, if i ask for comments I accept the positives with the negatives, thats the whole point . I appreciate everyone's input. Everyone's got "their own style", this one happens to be my thang.

Thanks dude. I considered it, but my first custom has a floyd, so I figured for this one I'd go with a string-thru bod bridge for some added sustain and easier alternate tunings and such.

Nice, but I really think the pickup rings are goofy looking and spoil the over all look. The single coil one looks very home-made if you see what I mean. Apart from that, I really like it.

Re: The New Custom Axe - DONE! w/pics

Yah, the entire body and such is handmade, its kinda what the appeal is for me. We'll see though, its really no big deal to take the single coil ring off if i dont like it over time and just fill in the tiny holes. I have some extra burl I can top the fills off with, clearcoat it and it'll look brand new.

+1.

I think it would look a lot better with something a lot less cumbersome for the surrounds. Otherwise I'd have it in a heartbeat!

Re: The New Custom Axe - DONE! w/pics

I like it, and appreciate the effort to get it built. I am really not liking the mid pup ring though, because it is not balanced (appearance).

The color I think would be better a bit darker.

I hope the body is really solid, as the neck support looks pretty thin.

Now let's see and hear that thing in action!
