OK so it finally happened.
My 4 and a bit year project that has traveled the globe to finally be completed.

After trolling tonnes of websites searching for the dream guitar, i stumbled on a Japanese site that featured the MRG-4 J-Custom and instantly fell in love with it. Had everything i wanted: Maple top with Burst finish, Pearl Pick-guard, Ebony Board with offset dots only at 12, Matching Headstock Gold Hardware...Magnificent.
but they all sold out...
So i figured I'd get one made with the connections available here...
Hardware came from some poor guy whose girlfriend trashed his Jem 7vwh. Sustainer and D-Sonic i scored dirt cheap from *bay. Won't bore you with the CWG ordeal but got a good deal there also.
All in all it took 4 and a bit years.
.....and its awesome!
Have had to tweak it a little and may still need to do so in future but at the moment i absolutely love it.
Sure the Maple did not turn out as nice as the original, the paintwork is not perfect (but pretty good) - but the neck is to die for, so hats off to CWG for that - overall the sound is phenomenal and then you plug it in and the D-Sonic is my new absolute favorite pick-up. The Sustainer is quite good on its own also, and still tinkering with it and it is a cool toy.
Financially was it worth it? Well a New MRG-10 (my next alternative) was around $4K. New RG2560E which is another beauty...around $2K This cost me all up around $1200 (did i mention 4 and a half years?)
either way i am very happy
