And you aren't even making guitars? Parts? Are you an assembly service then?

Re: New guitar company with a plan

What school did you get your Luthier training at?
How long have you been building guitars?
Have you done work or built other instruments besides guitars?
Do you do good finish and inlay work?
How long have you been a Luthier?

Re: New guitar company with a plan

In a sense yes, until I can build up enough revenue to own my own shop to completely build my own guitars

Re: New guitar company with a plan

Your companies plan is terrible. I hope for your sake you never applied for a loan from a bank for this, and if you did, I hope for the banks sake they laughed in your face.

That's harsh and not at all constructive.

Re: New guitar company with a plan

There is something to be said for paying your dues.
I hope no one seriously gives you money expecting a guitar in return. There is such a thing as ripping someone off. Even if you do have the best intentions you need real skill to deliver a quality instrument. There's nothing wrong with doing that on your own on your own dime, but when you ask people for money? So you can learn on the fly? Well, I feel sorry for the person that makes that mistake.
Sorry. Go apprentice somewhere and pay your dues!

Pardon me if I don't feel someone who responds as his first post with "Please keep your smart comments to yourself" is really going to find a subtle or humble response to be helpful.

Not sure what's worse, his business idea or the idea to start a new thread after the first was closed
