New Guitar (CSL Les Paul!)

Went into my local music store to buy strings today and left with this baby...

A CSL Les Paul from the 70s. MIJ. An absolute joy to play. I think it was made in the same factory as the Ibanez Les Pauls. It's got the hollow chambers that the 70s Ibanez Les Pauls had too, so it sounds great and it's not a pain to hold. Pickups are awesome too - neck pickup's very bluesy and smooth and the bridge pickup is amazing for grittier lead/rhythm stuff. Pinched harmonics are so easy.

Best thing is: it was £75. One of the best playing guitars I've ever touched. Better than any Gibson I've tried.

mmm, Love the Color, that is very awesome. So what is the Euro to U.S. Dollar though? Doesnt sound like it hurt your pocket going off the E70. Good find guy!

Great British Pounds, not Euros! I'd like to not be associated with the Euro if possible; it's not exactly doing well for itself. :P

But it works out at $120 at the current rates. I'll try and get a good picture of it today, but the finish is very difficult to capture properly in an image. The action is super low and it sustains amazingly well. Because it's a bolt-on neck and doesn't use the unwieldy Gibson set-neck joint, it has excellent upper fret access too.

POUNDS, I should have known that from Money Marketing class....was under the "influence" most of high school. But had awesome grades and 3.5 GPA...didnt affect anything I did or do. haha.

Hey, my mistake, but I for sure learned something from it. this time....Aint like the US dollar is doing as well.

120.00, you stole that lol. Awesome treasure find. That may just be the best 120.00 guitar you own or have owned.

Haha, don't worry about it.

Yeah, I do feel like I stole it. I genuinely felt like I was doing something wrong when I was leaving the shop with it. I've only found one more playable guitar in my life, and that's my grandfather's MIJ Strat. This thing absolutely flies. So shreddable. Although I am weird and love thick necks for playing fast. Action is 0.9mm at 12th fret and about 1.4mm at 22nd on the high E string. Action is 1.1mm at 12th fret for the low E and 1.3mm at 22nd fret.

And because it's a bolt on, there's better upper fret access than you'd normally have from a Les Paul. Sustain is still awesome. Best. Purchase. Ever. Now I see why the lawsuit guitars are so famous...
