New guitar day! 2004 J-Custom RG8520TB

Just showed up at my door yesterday. This thing is beautiful and I'm really digging the feel of the Ultra neck, which is a nice contrast to the Wizard on my RG3120. The fretboard is dry as a bone on this thing but once I get a chance to tear it down this weekend, I'll rectify that and also install a Fred I have in the bridge position. Combined with the Air Norton in the neck, this should give me two totally different feeling/sounding guitars.

I love some of the little details on this guitar like the backplates are black anodized aluminum rather than plastic and the knobs are recessed. Anyways, on with the pics:

Off topic but conincidentally, one of my old guitars is currently listed on 3bay, a 1996 USRG30 (190255467356). Ugh, poor thing looks like it's been neglected by the guy I sold it to.

Very nice - one of the better flame tops I've seen on an Ibanez

Thanks. Yours are the only two others I've seen pictures of on this site. Were I to have it my way, I would have gotten the turquiose , but it's not like these things come available every day. I still love the blue and it would be my second choice if I had a fantasy ranking of these guitars. This pickup configuration is pretty unique among J-Customs, which limits your options as well. I only paid $800 for this guitar, which was too good a deal to pass up.

I have an RG8570 in turquoise and it is an awesome colour, looks too blue ish in photos but absolutely glows under stage lighting. The only problem I have with it is that the side markers are abalone and are impossible to see against the flame maple binding in low light situations. The AANJ is better on the JC's too and the fretwork is outstanding.

Wow! What a beauty. That's one of those guitars you just look at and say....."SWEET"!

Great score!

Beautiful guitar, if I ever get a J-Custom it'll definitely have offset inlays.
