New guitar - floyd rose worries

Hey folks,

I'm buying a new guitar tomorrow ( ) and I'm seriously considering the S470. The only thing I'm concerned about is that I've never owned a floyd rose before and I've seen many a story from people experiencing restringing for the first time.

How long does it take to learn how to use it/restring etc?

Cheers
Joe

it really isnt that bad, so long as you do it the right way. theres something on here somewhere about how to do it, on the main site, i believe. the ibanez ones are high quality too, so theyre fairly easy compared to some of the crappier ones

Read Rich's comments on the ZR trem (the trem that's on the S470) very carefully.

Regards

André

Re: New guitar - floyd rose worries

just make sure when you change the strings, get the same EXACT strings that are on there... brand, and gauge. Otherwise, get the strings you want, and have a tech set it up with them.

The first time I own a locking trem is like a whole new world to me... I used strat at first... I didn't know that changing the strings in a locking trem you need to take the strings out one by one and then retune then take off another ... Instead I bring out all the strings.... It's a nightmare at first but you'll get used to it....
