Yea, emerald green is supposedly only a 93 color for 770s.

Mine's April 1991 based on serial though.

So either it's custom order emerald green or my laser blue has turned green. In person it's distinctly green... my phone camera makes it look blue though.

I thought it was laser blue, but it's much closer to emerald green. Been restoring its playability (got it really cheap with serious action issues after a broken neck and repair done in the 90s)

What do you think? Green or blue? If green then it's really rare for a RG770...

In real life it is greener than the pics turned out.

The binding has yellowed a lot with age and by whoever repaired the neck in the 90s and added finish over top of it (??!)

The action is getting pretty good now after a lot of work on my part.. a shim... removing nut shims and even filling down the neck nut floor.

Lots of edge adjustments, truss rod, saddles, shims more and less, started on some fret leveling... not crowning until better leveled though.... and roughly 2 to 2.5mm action 24th feet top to string bottoms.

These pickups are exceptional!

Original Edge in very good shape functionally

Missing the arm but I'm using edge 3 arm (loose in slot of course) just to work the trem and test things out until I can find an original edge arm with bushings, and new strings well stretched and it's sounding and playing great.

If binding has yellowed, than clear is maybe yellowed too making blue guitar green. You should look under pickup's rings or in neck pocket to check unfaded colour.

Good point. I'll check that.

Ps... I called the thread "new guitar... month" because I've had it a month and been fixing it up that whole time until I'm finally getting very very happy with the result.

Cheers

Weird because in person it's clearly green.

Ok, I guess that's what laser blue looks like lol.

My family and friends won't believe it when I show them the cell pics.. looks like a different guitar!

Anyhow.... I am VERY impressed with it.

Sounds and plays more responsively than the 2550 I used to own....

When I got it, bridge was as low as it could go, but action was around 1.5mm ON FIRST FRET and 4mm on 24th! Also it was actually backbowed slightly.

It plays incredibly well now.

Yep the emerald green is a LOT more green than a greeny-blue. I think this is a suitably aged laser blue as well.

Ok, thanks for the additional feedback.

This guitar was the former owner's number 1 until it fell on stage and the neck broke... in a concert in the 90s while he was playing it.

He had it professionally repaired back then but it was "never the same"... the low action was gone, etc..

Well all I can tell ya is I can't see how it ever played well ... the repair folks must have done some very strange things to it to make it this bad.

But now it plays beautifully. Tremolo is amazing and so stable. Positions 2 3 4 are very stratty... 1 and 5 are monstrous.

It's very alive, dynamic, and responsive.

1 PC maple neck probably helps. I hope it'll be stable....
