New Guitar (RGs) and Pickups for it

Hey there, am new here So hi to everyone.

Anyway, I'm currently looking at getting one of the following:

Ibanez RGT3020QM
Ibanez RGT3020FM

They look gorgeous, have a nice Edge-Pro double locking Tremolo system, Thru-neck construction (I know the advantages and disadvantages to these, but im careful with my guitars, so I wouldnt be likely to snap it off at the neck or anything stupid). Would be a big improvement on my current Ibanez RG470 which im planning to sell to help fund the new guitar. Ive considered the JEM series, but I want the guitar to be unique to me, not just an artist model (which would lose the uniqueness anyway). And Ive been put off by ESP and Jackson cos I dont like the overall looks of these, especially the headstocks on the Jacksons and the softer prongs on the ESP KH and similar guitars.

Im not an expert on pickups, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend any good pickups that would compliment the new guitar. I tend to play Metallica (usually their less intensive sounding songs, such as "Fade To Black", "One", "Nothing Else Matters" etc etc.) and then stuff such as Green Day, Eric Clapton etc. Im ideally looking for two humbucker pickups, one good for solo work, the other good for clean tones. Im not necessarily looking for a Metallica copycat style tone, just a nice tone that works like theirs, such as with Nothing Else Matters. Nice clean tones for the introduction/verse/chorus and nice tone for the solo. Just using that as an example. I've had my eyes on the EMG 81 and 85 Pickups, but i get a lot of contrasting reviews on them. Some people think theyre great for overdrive/distortion, but think they suck for clean tones, but then some people have said if you just lower the volume knob the clean tones sound much nicer and very clean.

If anyone has some suggestions, including personal experiences', id be interested to hear about them, whatever the brand of pickup, or if you think the stock ones are good and shouldnt be replaced, then that too.

they come with DiMarzio PAF Pro's I believe. You don't have the guitar yet, right? Why are you thinking about switching out the pickups when you haven't even heard them yet? You might like them. Wait until you get the guitar then decide.
